In carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn ore, dolomite ([Ca, Mg][CO 3] 2) is an important rock-forming mineral and coexists with target minerals, such as galena, sphalerite, and pyrite (Yuan et al., 2019). In the industrial production of this carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn ore, the associated dolomite easily enters the concentrate, thus contributing to unsatisfactory ...
The presence of pyrite poses a significant impediment to the comprehensive utilization of coal gangue, which is a prevalent solid waste in industrial production. However, the current efficacy of jig separation for pyrite in fine-grade coal gangue remains unsatisfactory. To investigate the influence of particle size distribution on the jig separation of pyrite in fine-grade …
Copper has excellent conductivity and ductility, and thus it is widely used in various industries, such as electricity and transport, and is considered an indispensable metal in the energy transition of the 21st century [1], [2].Copper is predominantly extracted from chalcopyrite, a copper iron sulfide mineral and the most abundant copper ore in the Earth's crust, which often contains …
In this study, using 4-amino-5-pentyl-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione (APTT) as a collector, the floatability of sphalerite and pyrite was explored through micro-flotation tests. In addition, the flotation separation of sphalerite from pyrite with the novel FeCl 3-CuSO 4-APTT reagent system without addition of CaO was investigated. Subsequently, the ...
The separation diculties of coal pyrite and ore pyrite are different due to the difference in their physicochemical proper - ties. Xi et al. (2016) showed that the hydrophobicity of coal pyrite is higher due to the substitution of C. In addition, nely
The copper pyrite separation Process Flowsheet Crushing circuit of a copper pyrite ore. The crushing section shown consists of single stage crushing with a Forced Feed Jaw Crusher. The mine run ore is fed from the coarse ore bin by means of a Apron feeder to the grizzly Jaw Crusher. The grizzly undersize and crusher discharge product are ...
When the pyrite ore is in a fine-grained state, the separation efficiency of the gravity separation method is often low, and flotation can be considered at this time. The flotation method uses the difference in the surface properties of the mineral to separate the target mineral from the gangue through the action of the reagent.
The oxidation of copper minerals plays a critical role in copper flotation and also the separation from pyrite. It is well known that chalcopyrite can be recovered by flotation in the absence of collectors under oxidizing conditions, but not under reducing conditions (Heyes and Trahar, 1977). ... Pyrite depression in copper ore flotation often ...
Highly eficient pyrite depres-sants can be selectively adsorbed on the surface of pyrite to improve its hydrophilicity, thereby increasing the flotation separa-tion eficiency. Understanding the …
The results demonstrate that the ore consists of 35 categories of minerals, assaying Cu 7.99%, Pb 9.39%, and Zn 1.96% in the forms of chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite, respectively, and silver ...
Pyrite (FeS 2, iron disulphide) is the most abundant sulphide gangue mineral that is closely associated with copper sulphide ore deposits. The presence of pyrite increases the iron and sulphur content and dilutes the grade of copper concentrates. Practically, the froth flotation is widely used pre-treatment method for the upgradation of copper ...
Chalcopyrite (CuFeS 2) is found associated with pyrite (FeS 2) and as such their separation is paramount for the beneficiation of copper because chalcopyrite is the main source of copper in the world (Davenport et al., 2002).One of the methods used to separate minerals is flotation via collectors to increase the hydrophobicity of the minerals and enable attachment to …
Copper (Cu) is a significant metal for the society development and scientific progress, and chalcopyrite is one of the main sources [1].Therefore, the efficient separation and enrichment of chalcopyrite appear to be particularly important, especially the flotation separation of chalcopyrite from sphalerite [2].The traditional chalcopyrite collectors, such as xanthates, …
3.1 Coal pyrite depressants. Although the contact angle is smaller and the induction time of coal pyrite is longer than those of coal (Qi et al. 2019), coal pyrite has better floatability than ore pyrite due to the doping of C atoms.Efficient depressants are needed to inhibit the floatability of pyrite in the flotation separation of coal and pyrite.
